Sydney's Big Wheels Delivers Nostalgia-Dipped Dreamscapes with 'Daydreams'

  • 2 min read

Sydney's Big Wheels continue their reign as the city's golden rock sweethearts with new single 'Daydreams'. With a track record including the successes of 'Chain of Fire', 'Colour Blind', 'Hurricane Therapy', and 'What Are You Waiting For', they're poised to take listeners on another exhilarating ride with their latest single, 'Daydreams'.

This dynamic duo, Cass Ford and Lawson Doyle, hail from the Sunshine Coast but have found a vibrant home in Sydney. Their sonic partnership is a study in contrasts that work. Ford's country-infused roots meld beautifully with Doyle's background in energetic rock and roll. Drawing influence from the greats – Fleetwood Mac, Oasis, Jefferson Airplane – alongside modern artists like Big Thief, the pair craft a sound that is as unique as it is infectious.

'Daydreams' is a sonic escape for anyone caught in the humdrum of daily life. The shimmer of electric guitars, spellbinding synths, and Ford's luscious vocals breathe hope into mundane worries. It's a soundtrack made for losing yourself in flights of fancy. "'Daydreams’ is a song that holds a special place in our hearts, as it captures the essence of our journey as a band and the endless possibilities that lie ahead," Ford reflects.

With producer Michael Smith (RYP Recordings) at the helm, 'Daydreams' shimmers with a captivating magic that underscores the band's evolution. Balancing sweetness with an irresistible edge, their sound is quickly becoming their signature.

Big Wheels' nostalgic vibes and catchy melodies are a welcome addition to the Australian music scene. Keep an eye on this pair; with the release of their upcoming EP, they're only just getting started.
